Summer ends, and autumn comes

CLUB MEMBERS SEE THE ROCKS SING AT MBONA

We were so fortunate that the sun chose to shine on the day of our outing to Mbona Private Nature Reserve. The hike was led by Annalie Kleinloog, who I am sure many of you will remember from a talk she gave at the auditorium a few years back and also the talk she presented to the Greater Ambers Natural Resources Club at Blueberry Cafe in 2021.

Woolly-necked Storks are at home in the Ambers

The Woolly-necked Stork is a familiar bird to most people living in the Ambers. On any day up to 15 birds may be seen. They are usually observed individually, in small groups on the ground or circling overhead on thermals. Some storks regularly visit certain residents to be fed.
